Saturday 18 July | 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm | Online
Albania stands at a defining moment. As citizens across the country mobilise around the ongoing civic movement, questions of environmental protection, institutional transparency, and long term national development have moved to the centre of public life.
UKAP Foundation is bringing together experts, practitioners, and members of the diaspora for an open and constructive conversation on these issues. This webinar will examine what is at stake for Albania's natural heritage, its legal and institutional frameworks, and its path toward EU integration.
What we will discuss
The protection of Albania's natural heritage and protected areas, and the pressures facing them from development and extractive interests
The legal frameworks that govern environmental protection and public decision making, and where enforcement gaps remain
Mechanisms for public participation and civic oversight, and how citizens can engage meaningfully in shaping policy
The long term implications for Albania's sustainable development and its progress on the EU accession path
Why this matters
Albania's natural resources and institutional integrity are not separate issues. They are bound together in the same question: what kind of future is Albania building, and for whom. This webinar offers a space for informed dialogue grounded in facts, law, and long term thinking, at a moment when public attention on these questions is higher than it has been in years.
Who should attend
This event is open to all, particularly Albanian professionals, students, civil society members, and diaspora communities in the UK and beyond who want to engage constructively with these questions.
We welcome your participation and your questions, and look forward to a thoughtful exchange.
