Programme Overview

Welcome to the UKAP Foundation Mentoring Programme. This flagship initiative of the Foundation has, over the past three years, supported many students and recent graduates in their personal and professional development by connecting them with Albanian professionals in the UK.

From the start, the aim has been to support ambitious students and graduates of Albanian origin by providing them with the resources and guidance needed to achieve their career goals. This is done by connecting them with an Albanian professional in the UK for what we hope will be a long-term, supportive relationship.

Voluntarily supported by Albanian professionals (i.e. mentors) who have persevered and navigated their way through numerous obstacles to establish and distinguish themselves in their fields, we strongly believe that the mentor‘s knowledge, experience, advice and guidance will be of valuable benefit to developing the future of the Albanian community.

Our Aim

Leveraging shared cultural values and perspectives, this initiative aims to unite and enable the younger generation to become part of the growing network of Albanian professionals in the UK, helping them to get involved with the community and keep them updated on future opportunities in their respective fields.

Application Process

The application process consists of two stages: the application phase and the interview phase.

During the application phase, applicants will complete the online application form and upload their CV. Upon submission, applicants will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of their application
The interview phase will involve an informal online interview between selected applicants and the selection committee to discuss their application and motivations further.

Following a successful interview, accepted applicants will be contacted via email and matched with a mentor whom the selection committee believes will be most beneficial based on career goals and objectives. Applicants will receive a detailed handbook outlining how the scheme operates and all the necessary information to initiate the mentorship journey.

Application Deadline

Applications for the 2024–25 cycle officially closed on 8 April 2025.

UKAP Foundation Mentoring Programme

To the credit of my mentor, but also the UKAP Foundation, the programme provided me with invaluable opportunities to speak with financial professionals and a support system while I transitioned from sixth form into university and applied for an internship.
