The UKAP Foundation proudly hosted its annual For a Better Future Gala 2025 on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at the historic National Liberal Club in London. The event welcomed more than 180 guests, including members, partners and supporters of the Foundation, for an evening dedicated to celebrating Albanian excellence, unity and the transformative power of education.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community, the Gala raised over £6,000, strengthening the Foundation’s mission to empower Albania’s most promising young people through the UKAP Foundation Scholarship Programme.
Professor Majlinda Lako
A world-leading expert in stem cell sciences, eye development and regenerative medicine at Newcastle University. Her pioneering research has significantly advanced global understanding and treatment of degenerative eye diseases.
Eva Buzo
Barrister, human rights advocate and founder of Victim Advocates International, an organisation dedicated to supporting survivors of war crimes. She also serves as Executive Director of hūmānus. In addition to her human rights leadership, Eva is internationally recognised for her achievements in long-distance swimming, including her extraordinary 92 km swim from Italy to Albania in 35 hours.
